Privacy Policy

Overview

Plain English: When you upload a recording, we send it to Google's Gemini AI to generate your analysis report. We delete your recording within 24 hours. We do not sell your data. We do not use your recordings to train AI models. Your analysis report belongs to you.

This Privacy Policy explains how BOB ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our screen recording analysis service. We are committed to handling your data responsibly, especially given the sensitive nature of workplace screen recordings.

What We Collect

Screen Recordings. When you use the Service, you upload a video file of your screen. This recording is processed solely to generate your productivity analysis and is not retained beyond our deletion schedule.

Email Address (optional). If you choose to create an account or request email delivery of your reports, we collect your email address. Providing an email address is not required to use the core analysis feature.

Payment Information. If you purchase a paid plan, your payment details (card number, billing address) are processed directly by Stripe, Inc. BOB stores only a non-sensitive token and basic transaction metadata; your full payment details never touch our servers.

Usage Data. We collect basic technical data about how you interact with the Service, including browser type, device type, pages visited, and feature usage. This data is collected in aggregate and is used to improve the Service.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information only for the purposes for which it was collected:

  • To generate your productivity analysis report — the core function of the Service
  • To deliver your analysis report via email, if you have requested this
  • To process your payment and manage your subscription, if applicable
  • To respond to support requests or account inquiries
  • To improve the Service through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your screen recordings, analysis results, or any identifiable information to train, fine-tune, or otherwise improve AI models, including third-party models.

Section 4

How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

Google Gemini API. Your screen recording is transmitted to Google's Gemini API for AI analysis. This is necessary for the core function of the Service. Google processes this data in accordance with their API Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We transmit only your recording — no identifying personal information accompanies the file during analysis.

Stripe. Payment information is processed directly by Stripe, Inc. We share only the minimum necessary transactional data required for billing and fraud prevention.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose your personal information or recordings to any third party for marketing, advertising, or any other commercial purpose. We do not share data with data brokers or advertising platforms.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of BOB, our users, or the public.

Section 5

Data Retention

We retain different types of data for different periods:

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at privacy@usebob.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.

Section 6

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Access. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction. You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Deletion. You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Portability. You may request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Opt-out. You may opt out of non-essential analytics collection at any time by contacting us.
  • Withdraw Consent. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@usebob.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Section 7

Security

We take the security of your data seriously, particularly given that screen recordings may contain sensitive workplace information. We implement the following measures:

  • Encryption in transit using TLS for all data transfers
  • Access controls limiting which personnel can access uploaded files
  • Automatic deletion of recordings within 24 hours of upload
  • Regular security reviews of our infrastructure and third-party integrations

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we implement commercially reasonable measures to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your data has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@usebob.com.

Section 8

Screen Recordings — Special Notice

Screen recordings may contain highly sensitive information. Please review the following before uploading.

Sensitive Content. Screen recordings often capture passwords, financial information, private messages, confidential business data, and the personal information of colleagues and clients. We strongly recommend reviewing your recording before uploading and, where possible, using a dedicated analysis session that avoids capturing sensitive material.

Employer Confidentiality. If you are an employee, your organization may have policies governing the recording and external transmission of screen activity. You are responsible for ensuring your use of BOB complies with any applicable employment agreements, confidentiality policies, or data protection obligations your employer has imposed.

Do Not Upload. Recordings containing passwords or authentication credentials, unredacted financial account numbers, protected health information (PHI), classified or government-restricted information, or recordings made in jurisdictions that require all-party consent without having obtained that consent.

Section 9

Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for use by adults in a professional context. BOB does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@usebob.com.

Governing Law

This Privacy Policy and any disputes arising from it are governed by the laws of the State of Rhode Island, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. For users in the European Economic Area, we comply with applicable GDPR requirements. For California residents, we comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
